Matthew Betts is an Adjunct Professor in UNB's Department of Anthropology and Curator at the Canadian Museum of History. His zooarchaeological research examines human-animal interactions, Arctic subsistence economies, and shell midden sites, with fieldwork in Nova Scotia (E’se’get Project) and the Canadian Arctic.
He develops digital resources like the Virtual Zooarchaeology of the Arctic Project (VZAP) and collaborates with Indigenous communities on heritage interpretation.
