Matthew Barth

Matthew Barth, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, State University of New York at Buffalo. He serves as an attending physician in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Oishei Children’s Hospital and holds a clinical/research position at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. His expertise spans pediatric hematology/oncology, with a focus on non-Hodgkin lymphoma and leukemia.

Dr. Barth's research explores targeted therapies for lymphomas, particularly Burkitt lymphoma, with emphasis on overcoming chemotherapy resistance via genomic medicine programs and signal transduction pathway targeting. His work has been supported by the Buswell Fellowship, St. Baldrick’s Foundation, and Hyundai Hope on Wheels.

His recent publications highlight advancements in anti-CD20 therapies, metabolic resistance mechanisms, and novel drug combinations for pediatric lymphomas. Trends show a focus on PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathway inhibition, immunotherapy, and phosphoproteomics in resistant lymphoma models.

His lab investigates mechanisms of drug resistance and novel agent development for pediatric lymphomas.
