Matthew B. Kaufmann is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Midwest Analytics and Disease Modeling Center (MADMC) within the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. His research focuses on developing decision-analytic infectious disease modeling platforms to support public health emergency response. He holds a PhD in Health Policy from Stanford University and has prior experience as an economist at RTI International.

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Business Economics from the University of South Carolina
- Master’s degree in Health Economics from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health
His research interests span simulation modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, and applications to infectious diseases, kidney transplantation policy, and cancer modeling. He works under the advisement of Professor Eva Enns at MADMC.
