Matthew Amengual is an Associate Professor of International Business at the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School and an Official Fellow at Kellogg College. His research focuses on the political dynamics of equitable and sustainable economic development, particularly examining interactions between firms, governments, and civil society in contexts with weak institutions. He holds a PhD and MA in political science from MIT, as well as an AB in Environmental Studies from Brown University.
His work explores labor and environmental regulation enforcement in middle-income and developing countries, including studies on mining communities in the Andes and labor standards in global supply chains.
