About
Dr. Matteo Vanni is a Research Fellow at the Paul Scherrer Institute's Laboratory for Catalysis and Sustainable Chemistry, working in the Novel Catalyst Development group led by Dr. Vladimir Paunovic. He obtained his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Siena in 2021, followed by research positions at CNR-ICCOM Florence and ETH Zurich. His research focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, nanomaterials, and reaction mechanisms for energy applications.
Research interests include:
- Functionalization of 2D materials with metal nanoparticles
- Carbon nitride supports for single-site catalysts
- Zeolite-catalyzed C1 coupling mechanisms
- Analytical protocols for hierarchical zeolites
- Methanol-to-olefins conversion systems
