Prof. Matteo Trimarchi is a Full Professor of Otolaryngology at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Italian Switzerland (USI) and Head of Otolaryngology at the Lugano Cantonal Hospital. He completed his MD at the University of Pavia (1996) and specialization in Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Brescia (2001). He holds a habilitation as Full Professor (2017).

His research focuses on endoscopic nasal-paranasal surgery, head and neck tumors, and co-caine-induced facial lesions. He has performed over 7,000 surgical procedures in head and neck pathology. He authored over 100 publications, a textbook, and 5 book chapters.
Leadership roles include Director of the Residency Program in Otorhinolaryngology at Vita-Salute University of Milan (2022), Senior Medical Director at IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital (2002–present), and board positions in national societies (e.g., SGORL, Italian Rhinology Academy founder).
Awarded honorary membership in the Spanish Society of Otorhinolaryngology and active in European and international academic networks.
