Prof. Matteo Rizzi is a Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of Cologne and the Division Leader/Head of the Numerical Analysis of Synthetic Quantum Matter team at the Peter Grünberg Institute (PGI-8), Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH. His research focuses on quantum simulations using ultracold atoms in optical lattices and Josephson junction arrays, with emphasis on topological phases of matter and tensor network methodologies for quantum many-body systems.
