Matteo Manfredini

Matteo Manfredini is a Full Professor at the University of Parma, affiliated with the Department of Chemical, Life and Environmental Sustainability Sciences. He teaches Demography, Principles of Statistics, and Statistics Applied to Biotechnology to undergraduate and graduate students in Political Sciences, Biology, and Biotechnologies.

His research spans interdisciplinary areas including demography, genetic epidemiology, public health, and biostatistics. He investigates historical demographic patterns, genetic factors in chronic diseases, and socioeconomic influences on health outcomes, with recent work focusing on land inequality in 19th-century Tuscany, temperature effects on neonatal mortality, and pharmacogenomic responses in hypercholesterolemia.

The 15 most recent publications reflect trends in historical demography, genetic polymorphisms, and biomedical statistics, highlighting collaborations in environmental health, clinical trials, and Italian/European health data analysis. He serves as a reference faculty member for the Bachelor's degree in Political Sciences and International Relations and contributes to departmental quality committees.
