Matt Perry

Dr. Matt Perry is a Senior Lecturer and Lead for Paramedicine at York St John University's School of Science, Technology and Health. Previously, he held academic roles at Oxford Brookes University, the University of Gloucestershire, and Coventry University, focusing on paramedic education and clinical practice development. His career spans over a decade in clinical paramedicine, followed by leadership in global healthcare initiatives, including establishing prehospital education programs in Malaysia.

Dr. Perry completed his PhD in 2023 on 'patient experience of paramedic interventions,' emphasizing research-driven improvements to healthcare systems. He holds a Master of Philosophy in Public Health from the University of Adelaide and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Professional memberships include the College of Paramedics and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

His research interests center on paramedic professional development, global healthcare roles, and education systems. Recent publications address ethical challenges in ambulance services, international prehospital care standards, and patient-centered paramedic practice.
