Matthew Murphy is an Associate Professor of Sustainability and Strategy at the Gustavson School of Business, University of Victoria, since 2012. His research focuses on cross-sector collaboration, stakeholder relationships, and Indigenous community-based sustainable development. He advises First Nations on evaluating socio-cultural impacts of economic projects and explores pathways to food sovereignty. His work bridges business ethics, human rights, and community empowerment.

Research Interests:
Explores stakeholder conflict resolution, socio-cultural impact assessments in Indigenous communities, and global-local dynamics in fair trade and food sovereignty. Current projects include documentary films on food sovereignty across continents, analyzing extractive industry conflicts, and developing tools for evaluating development projects with First Nations.

Teaching & Engagement:
