Matt Mowlem

Professor Matt Mowlem is a faculty member at the University of Southampton, affiliated with the Institute for Life Sciences and the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute. His research focuses on interdisciplinary areas including marine microbiology, environmental engineering, and advanced sensor technologies for infrastructure monitoring.

Research Projects:

• Marine Micro (EPSRC-funded): Investigating microbial interactions in marine environments, led by Prof. Hywel Morgan, Prof. Martyn Hill, and others.
• HEIF 2023/24 Validation of Pipeline Inspection Methodology: Developing SPR and DAS systems for pipeline integrity, involving collaborators like Dr. Rand M. N. Ismaeel and Dr. Ali Masoudi.
