Matt Hall

Matt Hall is a Professor of Public Policy and Sociology at Cornell University, where he serves as Director of the Cornell Population Center and Director of the Program for Applied Demographics. His work bridges sociology, demography, and public policy within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Hall specializes in immigration, racial/ethnic inequality, and demographic methods, with research examining unauthorized migration impacts, Latino boom towns, and housing segregation. He teaches courses in demography, immigration policy, and statistics, including SOC 6050: Social Demography (Spring 2025) and SOC 3620: Population Controversies in Europe (Summer 2025).
