Matt Grant is a Lecturer in Public Relations at the University of Southern Queensland's School of Humanities and Communication. He holds an MPubRel qualification from USQ and has extensive professional experience in crisis communication, military public affairs, and disaster response. His work spans roles in local government, national political campaigns, and international military operations, including deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, East Timor, and post-tsunami Banda Aceh.
Research interests focus on regional communication challenges, social media impacts, and defense-media relations. He teaches courses such as Strategic Communication Planning and Social Media for Organisations. Teaching experience spans 7 years in tertiary education.
