Matt Dixon is an interdisciplinary artist, creative director, and educator at the Royal College of Art (RCA), School of Communication. Formerly a creative director in the arts and culture sector, he has lectured extensively in the UK and maintains an active artistic practice with works held in private collections across the UK and US.
His research explores the facilitation of dialogue between ecosystems using emerging technologies to make invisible ecological relationships tangible. Key themes include empathetic engagement with environmental crises, the role of absurdity in meaning-making, and the materiality of technology. Expertise spans:

Recent projects include Rare_Earth (IRCAM, Paris, 2023), an immersive installation mapping rare-earth elements’ entanglement with technology, and Where There Are Edges (2023), a site-specific work documenting coastal erosion in Kent through community narratives.
