Matt Cordon is a Professor and A. Royce Stout Chair of Law at Baylor University’s Baylor Law School. He serves as Director of the Legal Writing Program and oversees the Legal Analysis, Research, and Communications (LARC) curriculum. His academic leadership includes two terms as Chair of the Baylor University Faculty Senate (2007-08 and 2020-21) and extensive involvement in campus-wide committees. He holds tenure at Baylor Law School and has been honored with prestigious awards including a national article award from the American Association of Law Libraries, two Baylor University Outstanding Professor titles (2004 for scholarship and 2019 for teaching), and young alumni awards from Central Methodist University (2006) and the University of North Texas College of Information (2009).
Dr. Cordon specializes in legal writing pedagogy, advanced legal research methodologies, and Texas legal history. He developed the Advanced Legal Research course at Baylor Law and co-authored foundational textbooks such as Researching Texas Law (2019) and Specialized Topics in Texas Legal Research (2005). His research emphasizes practice-oriented education, with notable contributions to legal advocacy training and curriculum design.
