Matt Carter

Dr. Matt Carter is a Research Fellow at the School of Biology, University of St Andrews, affiliated with the Sea Mammal Research Unit and Scottish Oceans Institute. His research focuses on marine vertebrates' behavior and habitat use, utilizing biologging technologies to track predators and analyze movement strategies. He holds a PhD from the University of Plymouth (2018) and an MSc from the University of Exeter (2014).

Research Interests: Behavioral ecology of marine predators, juvenile animal development, anthropogenic impacts on marine ecosystems, and statistical modeling of animal behavior. His current project examines artificial reefs in the North Sea using predators as indicators.
