Dr. Matt Asare is an Associate Professor of Social and Behavioral Health Science in the Department of Public Health at Baylor University. He holds a PhD in Health Education (2011), MPH, and a postdoctoral fellowship in cancer control and prevention (2018) funded by the National Cancer Institute R25 Training program.
- Research Focus: Cancer health disparities, implementation science for cervical cancer prevention (particularly in Ghana and US rural communities), patient-provider relationships, cultural humility, and sexual education.
- Funded Projects: NIH R21 grant (R21TW012728) for cervical cancer toolkits in Ghana; NIH U01 grant (U01CA294757) to scale these strategies for women living with HIV.
- Teaching: Courses in behavioral health theory, intervention design, and global health (PUBH 6322, 5315, 4331, 4340).
