London-based saxophonist, composer, and educator Matt Anderson, a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, is a Dankworth Prize-winning artist renowned for his album 'The Town and the City' (2022). He currently serves as a coach for Junior Jazz ensembles at the Royal Academy of Music, fostering young talent in London's vibrant jazz scene.
Anderson's musical practice bridges traditional jazz foundations—from Sonny Rollins to Wayne Shorter—with global rhythmic traditions and pastoral, folk-inspired soundscapes.
