Matilde Bro Hansen is a Ph.D. fellow at the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen, affiliated with SODAS and the SOVEREIGN research project led by Professor Rebecca Adler-Nissen and Assistant Professor Kristin Eggeling. Her research investigates the EU's tech agenda with focus on digital sovereignty as negotiated within EU institutions through qualitative Brussels-based fieldwork.
Education:

- BSc in International Business and Politics, Copenhagen Business School (2020) including exchange semester at Korea University (2019)
Research Interests: Her work analyzes digital sovereignty frameworks, EU technology regulation dynamics, and global spillover effects of EU digital policies. She examines theoretical sovereignty concepts in digital contexts and stakeholder interactions between EU institutions, tech corporations, and civil society during policymaking processes.
Teaching: In spring 2024 she teaches her designed course 'Europe's quest for digital sovereignty: Exploring EU in the global tech race' while supervising International Politics #3 students and bachelor's theses methods training. Fall 2024 includes master's thesis supervision and continued bachelor's methods facilitation.
Affiliations: Core member of the SOVEREIGN project exploring digital-age sovereignty and SODAS (Copenhagen Center for Social Data Science) research infrastructure.
