Mathilde Elsa Christensen is a PhD Research Fellow at the University of Agder's Department of Health and Nursing Science. Her research focuses on critical care nursing, pediatric nursing, and mental health interventions, with particular emphasis on family-centered approaches in intensive care settings.
Christensen's international experience includes clinical training and work in Thailand, Tanzania, Denmark, and Greenland. She currently serves as international director for the Norwegian critical care nurses organization and represents Norway in European and world critical care nursing federations.
Her publications establish evidence-based protocols for ICU complications and examine global critical care nursing practices. Research outputs demonstrate consistent focus on improving patient outcomes through systematic reviews and international practice analysis.
Christensen's leadership roles include positions in the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses and European Federation of Critical Care Nurses Associations, where she contributes to global nursing policy development.
