Mathieu Vinken is a senior full professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium) and a visiting professor at the University of São Paulo (Brazil). He holds a Pharm.D. and Ph.D. in experimental in vitro toxicology, and is a European Registered Toxicologist (E.R.T.). His research focuses on liver toxicity mechanisms, connexin/pannexin channels as drug targets, and in vitro toxicology modeling. He coordinates major projects like the €17M ONTOX initiative and has secured over €20M in grants from ERC, Horizon 2020, and national programs.
