About
Mathieu Laurent serves as a Lecturer at the Chemistry Department of IUT du Mans (University of Maine, Le Mans). He is affiliated with the MSO Team within the IMMM Unit (UMR CNRS 6011) and contributes to research in Organocatalysis, [3+2] Cycloaddition, and Peptide Coupling. His teaching focuses on chemical engineering, organic chemistry, and reactor design at L1 and L2 levels.
Education:
- Doctorate in Chemistry (1999-2004) from the University of Louvain (UCL), Belgium, collaborating with Tessenderlo Chemie
Research Interests:
The work centers on asymmetric synthesis of polyfunctional compounds using [3+2] cycloaddition strategies. Current projects include organocatalytic approaches, stereoselective ketonitrone reactions, and synthesis of constrained amino acids. Collaborations span teams from Rennes, Orléans, and internal IMMM members like Arnaud Martel and Gilles Dujardin.
Research Trends:
Publications highlight cycloaddition chemistry for creating complex molecular architectures, particularly for pharmaceutical applications. Keywords like enantioselectivity, beta-lactams, and molecular wheels indicate interdisciplinary applications in medicinal and materials chemistry.
Labs and Collaborations:
Active in the MSO Team (IMMM Unit), with past affiliations including the University of Rennes 1 (UMR CNRS 6226) and University of Orléans (ICOA, UMR CNRS 6005). Collaborated with Dr. B. Carboni, Professor OR Martin, and Professor J. Marchand-Brynaert.
