Mathieu Lacroix

Mathieu Lacroix is an Associate Professor at the University of Inland Norway, affiliated with the Faculty of Teacher Education and Pedagogy and the Department of Arts and Cultural Studies. His research focuses on composition, music production, and the integration of acoustic and electroacoustic traditions. He holds a doctorate in composition and analysis from NTNU, with studies at IRCAM (France) and Musiques et recherches (Belgium). His work explores synchronization strategies, spatialization, and computer-assisted composition. Lacroix has collaborated with ensembles like Trondheim Sinfonietta and Electric Audio Unit, and is a member of research groups such as Art and AI, Digital Communication and Culture, and Quest.

Research interests include mixed music, progressive music, and the interplay between musicians and computers within classical traditions. His publications analyze interfaces in mixed music performance, as seen in his 2020 article. Teaching spans institutions like NTNU and Nord Universitet. He actively contributes to composition competitions and artistic development in Nordic electroacoustic music.
