Mathieu Carenzo is a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship at IESE Business School, part of the University of Navarra. He teaches at both MBA and Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) levels and has extensive experience teaching in three languages (English, Spanish, and French) across four continents. As an experienced entrepreneur and business angel, he currently invests in unicorns like Glovo and various scaleups and startups.

With extensive practical experience as an entrepreneur and business angel, he brings real-world insights to his academic work.
His recent publications (2021-2025) primarily focus on startup scaling, investor relations, and entrepreneurial communication. He has developed an extensive course on 'Mastering the Art of Scaling and Convincing Investors,' along with multiple case studies on Glovo's journey from startup to unicorn. His earlier work (2011-2012) focused on entrepreneurial acquisitions and due diligence processes.
Professor Carenzo serves as a business angel with investments in several high-growth companies including Glovo (unicorn), Bizaway, Amphora, Trioteca, Fabbric, ModularDS, and Sikili. He is a member of the FINAVES investment committee and a founding partner of Venture Hub, a consulting firm that supports high-impact startups in their development and international growth. Previously, he was a managing partner at venture capital funds in Spain specializing in technology services companies operating in B2B and B2B2C markets.
Before his academic career, Professor Carenzo held various positions in Europe and the Americas, primarily in corporate entrepreneurship. He began his career at Danone and later worked at Airbus Helicopters, where he led growth operations in Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central America, gaining experience in establishing new structures and developing new markets.
