Prof. Dr. Mathias Rudolph is a Professor of Industrial Metrology at HTWK Leipzig's Faculty of Engineering, where he serves as Deputy Spokesperson for the Institute of Technology and Production in Mechanical Engineering (TPMB). He previously held leadership roles including Dean of the Faculty (2015-2019) and is a current Senate member. As a founding member of the Institute for Digital Teaching and Learning (IDLL), he actively shapes pedagogical innovation.
His research focuses on industrial measurement systems, predictive maintenance, energy optimization, and fuzzy logic applications in control engineering. Recent projects include FaGULab (a citizen-science initiative analyzing environmental impacts of green bus-stop roofs) and organic photovoltaics integration for sustainable agriculture. He supervises a multidisciplinary team of 15+ researchers and student assistants.
Prof. Rudolph teaches courses in measurement technology, control systems, and process automation. His work bridges academic research and urban sustainability, notably collaborating with Leipzig's municipal authorities and research networks like the Helmholtz Environmental Research Center (UFZ).
