Mathias Kissel is an acting professor of religious education at Bielefeld University since 2024. He also holds a Private Lecturer (PD Dr. habil.) position in Practical Theology / Religious Education at the University of Paderborn, where he completed his habilitation in 2024. From 2023–2024, he served as a Lecturer in Liturgics / Homiletics at the University of Marburg.
