He holds a PhD in Sociology from Bielefeld University (2007-2010) and a degree in Social Pedagogy from the Rauhe Haus College in Hamburg (2002-2007). His research focuses on classical social pedagogical methods, early childhood education, gender research, and queer youth work. He teaches courses on pedagogical theories, methods, and practical applications, including modules on gender-sensitive education and professional planning in social work.
His work emphasizes gender intersectionality and critical pedagogy, addressing topics like educator gender constructs in childcare settings and inclusive educational practices. He has published widely on these themes and contributed to policy development, such as Hamburg's guidelines for gender-reflected childcare. Active in university governance, he serves on examination committees and the faculty council, and chairs workshops promoting gender competence in educational institutions.
Key publications analyze gender socialization in early education and male educators' professional identities in female-dominated fields. His teaching spans bachelor’s and master’s programs, with a focus on bridging theory and practice in social pedagogy.
