Mathew Gendron (he/him) is a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Special Education at the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Education. He rejoined ECPS in 2024 to teach counselling psychology.
- Education: PhD in Counselling Psychology from UBC, supported by a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship
His scholarly interests focus on the intersection of gender, sexuality, and counselling processes, with emphasis on client-centered, narrative, and emotion-focused theoretical orientations. Research highlights include qualitative video-recall methodologies applied to sexual communication studies.
His 2021 publication in Sexualities reflects broader trends in critical counselling psychology and LGBTQ+ health research.
