Mateusz Ochab

Mateusz Ochab is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS), Lublin, Poland. Holding a PhD in Chemical Sciences (2018), his work focuses on developing advanced voltammetric sensors for trace analysis and speciation of metal ions. He teaches courses in electrochemical analysis and speciation techniques to graduate students.

His research involves applying solid metallic electrodes (lead, bismuth, gold) in anodic and adsorptive stripping voltammetry for environmental and pharmaceutical compound detection. Recent publications highlight applications in determining copper, uranium, thallium, nickel, cobalt, selenium, arsenic, and gold ions, with method innovations like double deposition/stripping steps and micro-electrode systems.

Scientific awards include recognition for his doctoral dissertation at UMCS. He has collaborated extensively with Iwona Gęca and Professor Mieczysław Korolczuk, with publications in journals like Talanta, Electroanalysis, and International Journal of Environmental Analytical Chemistry.
