Mateo Del Río Clar

Mateo Del Río Clar serves as an Assistant Professor of Inorganic Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). He is a core member of the Materials Chemistry Group (MATER) and collaborates extensively with the Analytical Chemistry, Automation, and Environment Group at UIB.

His research centers on synthesizing and characterizing metal-organic networks (MOFs) and derived hybrid materials, with emphasis on integrating them into functional supports like membranes, 3D-printed devices, and monoliths for contaminated water remediation. Key research specialties include:

• Nanostructured porous solids engineering
• Hybrid material synthesis for environmental applications
• Functional support development for water treatment systems
• Advanced characterization of metal-organic frameworks

Dr. Del Río Clar has co-authored seven publications in international journals, accumulating 263 Google Scholar citations with h-index 5 and i10-index 5. His research has been presented at 15 international conferences and supported by seven competitive grants (3 national, 4 regional).
