Massimo Degrassi

Massimo Degrassi is a Full Professor and serves as the Director of the Department of Humanities (DiSU) at the University of Trieste. He holds multiple administrative positions including Director of the Management Office, Member of the Academic Senate, and Director of the Board of Directors. His academic work falls under the sector of History of Contemporary Art.

Professor Degrassi's research interests focus on Art History, Contemporary Art, and Film Studies, with particular emphasis on cultural heritage preservation and artistic legacies. His work explores European imperial regimes and their governance structures, as evidenced by his participation in the MITIREG project. His research bridges historical analysis with contemporary cultural studies, examining how artistic heritage is preserved and reinterpreted over time.

As Scientific Manager for multiple research initiatives, Degrassi demonstrates leadership in coordinating interdisciplinary projects. His work includes examining war-related damage to cultural heritage, archaeological park development, and educational transition programs. His research methodology integrates historical analysis with practical applications for cultural preservation and educational development.

Professor Degrassi actively contributes to academic governance as a Member of the Department Council and serves on multiple Course of Study Recommendation committees across various disciplines including Foreign Languages and Literatures, Historical and Philosophical Disciplines, Letters, and Primary Education Sciences.
