Marzia Ransom is an Instructor in the Department of Art and Design at the University of West Florida's College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities. An Italian artist practicing in Florida, she earned her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston.
Her artistic practice focuses on large-scale figurative oil paintings and wet-process photography that explore feminine representations across historical, religious, mythological, and literary contexts. Her scholarly research examines early Medieval reliquaries, analyzing their craftsmanship, psychological impact, and evolving cultural significance in art history.
