Maryuri Roca

Maryuri Roca is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Skidmore College, where she has been since 2013. Her research focuses on the stability of metal nanoparticles in aqueous solutions, utilizing molecular spectroscopy and electron microscopy for characterization.

Research Interests: The Roca group investigates syntheses of nanomaterials with stabilizing agents, emphasizing techniques like molecular spectroscopy and electron microscopy. Their work has implications for optical stability in nanocomposite films and biomedical applications.

Publications: Recent work explores impurities in nanoscale synthesis, silica coating for nanoparticle stability, and analytical method development. Research spans nanomaterials, spectroscopic techniques, and environmental/analytical chemistry.
