Marybeth Lima

Marybeth Lima is Department Chair and Alumni Professor in Biological and Agricultural Engineering at LSU. Her work centers on community-based design, service-learning pedagogy, and inclusive engineering practices that address social inequities.

Key Projects: Founded the LSU Community Playground Project creating accessible play spaces. Research includes developing 3D tactile navigation systems for visually impaired children and promoting IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Access) in engineering education.

Educational Background: PhD in Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering from The Ohio State University with over 20 years of experience integrating community engagement into engineering curricula.
