Mary Randriamaro

Mary Randriamaro is a PhD candidate in Economics at Washington State University (WSU) and a Lead Instructor in the School of Economic Sciences. She holds an MBA in Leadership and Human Resources (2015) and a B.S. in Environmental Science (with Honors, 2012), both from Lipscomb University, Tennessee. Her research focuses on Behavioral Economics, Environmental and Natural Resources Economics, Experimental Economics, and Econometrics, with recent work on time valuation and water utility tariff dynamics.

Her teaching experience includes leading undergraduate courses such as Economics Capstone, International Economics and Finance, and Microeconomics. She has also served as a teaching assistant for Microeconomics and Calculus-based Microeconomics at WSU and tutored economics at Middle Tennessee State University.

Mary’s research explores household water debt in Nairobi, Kenya, and the motivations behind U.S. water utility tariff choices. She has presented her work at WSU’s Graduate Research Exposition, earning a 2nd place poster competition award. Her technical skills include Python, R, Stata, and LaTeX, alongside fluency in English, French, and her native Malagasy.

She currently serves as a consultant for Environment for Development (EFD) Kenya, examining water customer payment behaviors. Her academic advisors include Dr. Joseph Cook and Dr. Ana Espinola-Arredondo, both at WSU.
