Mary Pat Brady is a Professor at Cornell University within the College of Arts and Sciences, affiliated with the American Studies Program, Latina/o Studies Program, and Literatures in English. Her roles include Director of the American Studies Program, former Director of Cornell’s Latina/o Studies Program, Associate Chair of the Department, and Director of Graduate Studies. A queer Chicana scholar and parent of three, she focuses on Chicana and Latine literature, film, hemispheric literatures, critical geography, and children’s literature.

Her publications include the books Scales of Captivity: Racial Capitalism and the Latinx Child and Extinct Lands, Temporal Geographies: Chicana Literature and the Urgency of Space, both from Duke University Press. She has also edited the Gale Researcher: 20th and 21st Century American Literature Series (2017) and contributed to expanding Latina/o representation in the Heath Anthology of American Literature.
