Mary Mussman

Mary Mussman is a Visiting Professor at Deep Springs College specializing in Victorian and Modernist literatures, sexuality studies, and transgender studies. Their research examines literary representations of gender variance and queer subcultures in 19th-20th century Britain and France, analyzing how literature shaped cultural understandings of identity.

They hold an M.A. from UC Berkeley and a B.A. from Yale, with studies at École Normale Supérieure de Paris. Courses taught include trans literary history and Sappho's reception.
