Mary L. Smith

Mary L. Smith is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Hawaii Pacific University, part of the College of Natural and Computational Sciences. She contributes significantly to undergraduate and graduate education in computer science and information systems, while also serving as the faculty sponsor for the ACM student chapter and as a curriculum liaison for military campus programs.

Her taught courses span foundational programming, data structures, database systems, data mining, assembly language, systems analysis, software engineering, and web design, reflecting a comprehensive engagement with both technical and applied aspects of computing.

Dr. Smith has previously taught in the Master of Science in Information Systems program at Hawaii Pacific University and held teaching and leadership roles at St. Edward’s University and Concordia University in Austin, TX, where she served as Computer Science Chair.
