Mary Kramer

Dr. Mary Kramer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Health Science at Minnesota State University, Mankato, within the College of Allied Health and Nursing. She joined the university in 2016 following academic appointments at Wright State University (2011-2016) and leadership roles in public health organizations including the American Cancer Society and Ohio Department of Education.

Her educational background includes a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction (Exercise and Wellness) from Arizona State University, an M.P.H. in Health Education from the University of Hawaii, and a B.A. in Health-Fitness and Biology from Gustavus Adolphus College. She holds multiple certifications in tobacco treatment, wellness coaching, and health education.

Dr. Kramer's research centers on Tobacco Control Policy and School Health Advocacy, with publications examining community interventions, health behavior change, and educational strategies. Her scholarly work emphasizes practical applications in public health settings, from therapy dog programs to school wellness policies.

She has received significant honors, including:
