Mary Kohn is a Professor in the Department of English at Kansas State University. She earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics in 2013 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
- Research Focus: Sociophonetics, language variation and change, American English, language and ethnicity, language and gender, and language change across adolescence.
- Current Projects: Frank Porter Graham Project and Southeast Raleigh Project, investigating how children's accents evolve during schooling and how cultural/geographic factors influence language change trajectories.
- Publications: Recent work in American Speech, Language Variation and Change, and Journal of the Acoustical Society of America. She is preparing a monograph on language variation across the lifespan.
