Mary Cuadrado is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice at Mercy University’s School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. With over 25 years of teaching experience, she holds leadership roles including Director of the Criminal Justice Program, SSBS Assessment Coordinator, and Interim Chair of the Social Science Department. She previously served as Department Head at University of South Florida/Sarasota and Program Chair at University of Texas at El Paso. Dr. Cuadrado’s research focuses on addictions, deviance among minority groups, police officer misconduct, and LGBTQ+ issues. As Principal Investigator of the CJII grant, she delivers a Behavioral Science program at Sing Sing Correctional Facility.
Her teaching emphasizes theoretical foundations of criminal justice, social science research methods, and critical analysis. Core courses include Criminology, Juvenile Delinquency, and Research Methods in Criminal Justice. She actively publishes in peer-reviewed journals, exploring topics like LGBTQ+ student advocacy and racial stereotypes in academic materials. Her Fulbright Scholarship (Mexico, 2003) underscores her international academic engagement.
