Mary Butler

Mary Butler is an Associate Professor in the Division of Health Policy & Management at the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health. She serves as Co-Director of the Minnesota Evidence-based Practice Center and Graduate Faculty for the Center on Aging Gerontology Minor program.

Her research focuses on scientific evidence standards, systematic review methodology, and evidence-informed health care for complex patients and interventions. She specializes in health services research and evidence-based practice, leveraging prior financial sector experience managing $45M portfolios to inform health policy analysis.

As Co-Director of the Minnesota Evidence-based Practice Center, she oversees Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) review programs while mentoring students through the Gerontology Minor program.

The Center conducts specialized systematic reviews on complex health interventions under her co-direction, addressing critical gaps in evidence-based healthcare delivery.
