Mary Baskin Waters

Dr. Mary Baskin Waters is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of South Carolina's College of Arts and Sciences. She serves on the College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Council and the Carolina Guardian Society.

Her research focuses on service-learning pedagogy, women's history archiving, and community engagement. She established the Archiving South Carolina Women project in 2020 and a lectureship series in 2015.

Dr. Waters is CEO of Albion Research Associates, LLC, and has held leadership roles in the South Carolina Commission on Women (Director 1992-1997, Commissioner 1997-2003). She mentors students through service-learning courses like WGST 112 in the South Carolina Honors College.
