Mary Anthony is a Professor at Kent State University's College of Nursing, where she also serves as Associate Dean for Research and holds a joint appointment as Co-Director of Nursing Research at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. With over 15 years of research leadership, her program focuses on nursing care delivery models, patient safety outcomes, and clinical workflow efficiency. Her work has received funding from federal agencies and professional organizations.
Her research examines critical aspects of nursing practice including mindful communication for safer delegation, interruption management in medication administration, generational differences in leadership perception, and information system adoption. She teaches advanced quantitative methods in the NURS 70745 course.
Honors include the Midwest Nursing Research Society's Honor a Researcher Award and Eminent Mentor Scholar recognition. She maintains active memberships in Sigma Theta Tau, Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science, and serves on editorial boards for nursing journals.
