Marwa A. Elsayed

Dr. Marwa A. Elsayed is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Western University (Canada). Her research focuses on cybersecurity solutions leveraging software engineering and artificial intelligence, addressing challenges in cloud/edge computing, big data systems, and IoT within Cyber-Physical Systems. Previously, she held a prestigious NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship at Dalhousie University (2021–2023) and earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Queen’s University (Kingston, 2018).

Her academic awards include three Best Paper Awards at international conferences and the NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowship. She is an active member of IEEE and ACM. Dr. Elsayed’s work bridges interdisciplinary methodologies to tackle modern IT security challenges.

Research interests span cybersecurity, software engineering, AI-driven security frameworks, and emerging technologies. Her publications cover structural integrity (e.g., fracture mechanics in materials) and precast concrete systems, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach.
