Martin Östlund

Martin Östlund is an Assistant Professor in Media Technology at Linnaeus University's Faculty of Technology. He divides his time between teaching courses in Human-Computer Interaction and User Interface Design, and conducting research in web-based communication services with a specialization in eHealth applications.

His research focuses on:

• Developing technology-enhanced solutions for healthcare, including tablet-based tools for cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy
• Creating virtual reality systems for pharmaceutical consultation and education
• Designing STEM learning activities through projects like Science4Girls
• Applying systems-based approaches to technology evaluation and quality improvement

Östlund leads research at the Center for Learning and Knowledge Technologies (CeLeKT), where his team explores mobility, social media, and technology-enhanced learning. His publications demonstrate a consistent focus on applying interactive technologies to healthcare challenges, particularly in oncology support and pharmaceutical education.
