Martin Trefzer is Professor of Bio-inspired Systems and Technologies at University of York's School of Physics, Engineering and Technology. His research develops novel fault-tolerant architectures using bio-inspired approaches, evolutionary computation, and reconfigurable systems.
He leads EPSRC projects including Edgy Organism and Nervous Systems, focusing on self-optimizing hardware and neuromorphic computing. Current work explores nanomagnetic reservoir computing, developmental graph automata, and evolutionary circuit optimization.
