Martin Stokhof

Martin Stokhof is an emeritus professor of philosophy at the University of Amsterdam and currently holds a part-time Jin Yuelin professorship at the Department of Philosophy, Tsinghua University. He also serves as director of graduate studies at the Tsinghua University – University of Amsterdam Joint Research Centre for Logic.

He studied philosophy and linguistics at the University of Amsterdam, earning his PhD in 1984 with a joint dissertation alongside Jeroen Groenendijk. Throughout his career, he has held positions at the University of Amsterdam, Radboud University Nijmegen, and Tsinghua University.
