About
Dr. Martin Peeks is a Scientia Senior Lecturer in the School of Chemistry at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). His research focuses on chemical synthesis and advanced analytical techniques to explore fundamental chemistry in sensing and light-harvesting applications, particularly investigating aromaticity, electronic delocalization, and unconventional chromophores. He earned his DPhil from the University of Oxford (2018) and holds an MChem from the University of St Andrews (2013). Peeks leads the Peeks Group (peeksgroup.com) and holds grants including an ARC Discovery Project (2025-2028) and an ARC DECRA Fellowship (2024-2027). He teaches courses like CHEM2031 and co-coordinates the 'Python for Chemists' stream in CHEM4502.
