Martin Olsson is a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at the University of California, Berkeley, where he has been a faculty member since 2006. He currently serves as the Department Chair and is affiliated with the Simons Collaboration on Perfection in Algebra, Geometry, and Topology.
His research focuses on Algebraic Geometry and Arithmetic Geometry, exploring topics such as K3 surfaces, abelian varieties, Brauer groups, motives, and moduli spaces. He has supervised numerous PhD theses on advanced topics in these fields.
Martin Olsson's work is funded by the National Science Foundation, including FRG grant 2151946 and RTG grant 1646385. He has mentored students including Roy Zhao, Ravi Fernando, Michael Christianson, and others, with theses spanning 2009–2023.
